Wire binding is an elegant binding method. Wire bound books are good looking, perfect for corporate reports, marketing proposals, pitch books, personal diaries and notebooks. Wire bound documents lay perfectly flat, and allow your document to turn 360 degrees. With a wire binding system you can use whatever cover sheets you want: paper, hardback covers, metal, poly or clear.

Wire binding is done by first punching the paper and then inserting and crimping the wire binding around the paper.

There are different styles of wire binding.

● 3:1 Pitch - 3 holes per inch - This wire binding pattern will wire bind a book from 3/16" - 9/16" thick, using 32 loop wire binding per 11" sheet.

● 2:1 Pitch - 2 holes per inch - This wire bind will wire bind books from 1/4 - 1 1/4" thick, using 21 loop wire binding per 11" sheet.

●19 Ring Wire - will bind a book from 1/4" to 1" thick using 19 holes per 11" sheet. This style of wire binding uses a comb binding punch, making it the least costly way to get into wire binding - just purchase a wire closer if you already have a comb punching machine.

Best deal for small to moderate needs is the Duo321 32 / 21 loop wire binding machine. This new wire binding machine punches both 3:1 and 2:1 Pitch, square holes from 1/4 - 1-1/4. It is a heavy duty, complete wire binding system at a very good cost. To wire bind more books, look at our heavy duty universal die punches. The DTP 340 from Renz or the Rhin-o-Tuff #7700 can punch up to 35 sheets, saving you time and getting the job done with ease.

Most Automated System is the PB3300 by James Burn. It is the only office or print / copy shop style wire binding machine that has BOTH Electric Punch and ELECTRIC BINDING for wire-o bound books. Think of the time and aggravation you will save by closing the wire binding correctly. The PB3300 also has a wire-o inserter. It binds books fast and it is easy to use.
The heaviest duty and strongest punch made is the Rhin-O-Tuff HD7700. It is a universal punch; it will punch paper in any hole style you need: Wire, Comb, Coil, 3-Hole, VeloBind or other. Up to 45 sheets can be punched at a time. That really will speed your bookbinding. We can't advertise the price on the Rhin-o-Tuff punching systems, so call us at 1-800-952-2463 to order.

Both the 3:1 and 2:1 pitch come in either round or square holes - Most wire machines punch square holes, the interchangeable die punches can do either, depending on which which wire bind die you purchase.
